Grahams' getting on his bike!

Wed 1st Nov 2017

We’re excited to announce our CEO Graham Williams is getting on his bike – and completing the London to Nice Cycle with Discover Adventure to raise money for the amazing charity Macmillan Cancer Support!

The gruelling ride will start on 30th August 2017 and take place over 15 days and 1,000 miles!

Some information from Discover Adventure about the challenge - setting off from London, the bike ride will pass through picturesque Kent countryside, cross the Channel and continue through the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France to Paris and the evocative landmark of the Eiffel Tower.

After a day to rest, he’ll head through rolling fields of wheat and sunflowers, and the famous vineyards around Chablis. The landscape is dotted with small medieval towns and sleepy villages, and the rolling hills provide the perfect preparation for the hair-pin bends of the Col de la Faucille (1323m) – a climb in the Jura mountains that has featured many times in the Tour de France!

A wonderful descent takes him into Switzerland and down to beautiful lakeside Geneva, setting off through the Alps to Provence, riding through beautiful scenery of towering mountain peaks, spectacular limestone cliffs and gorges, dense forests and lavender fields. With long, challenging days in the saddle, the magnificence of the landscapes will motivate him to keep pedaling (we hope!)!

The unforgettable ride ends with a fabulous descent from the hills through the Gorge du Loup to Nice and the beach, where he’ll have time to relax and appreciate the huge achievement!

WHY MACMILLAN?

Everyone has a story. The reality of today is everyone knows someone, or have themselves, been touched by the life changing illness that is cancer. However, life changing doesn’t have to mean life over. And this is true, in part, due to the work MacMillan do to support both people living with cancer and those close to them.

At 2020 we have people on our team who have their story. A story that was made easier thanks to MacMillan. This year we want to say thank you to MacMillan and help to ensure they are there for others should they need them. We will be undertaking a series of events to raise money throughout the year and would welcome your support.
